Abstract

In recent years, research on updating the regional division of Poland made by J. Kondracki has been undertak-en. The nationwide and intercollegiate team of geographers working at the verification of the current physico-geographical regionalization was created. Independently, work on updating the divisions of individual macroregions in many scientific centers are underway. This article is one of such attempts undertaken at the level of the sub-province of the Silesia-Kraków Upland. The proposed refinement does not change the regional range criteria considered as universal according to the principle of territorial integrity and internal unity as well as the analysis of the origin of the relief and geological structure on a regional scale. However, the pro-posed division of the sub-province of the Silesia-Krakow Upland seems to comply with the state of modern geographic-geological knowledge and the results of various physico-geographical studies in this area.
