Model stratygrafii krajobrazów kulturowych. W poszukiwaniu typologii ewolucyjno-genetycznej

Abstract

The paper presents her own landscape stratigraphy method as a possible approach to recreating landscape evolution. On this basis, an evolutionary-genetic (chronological) typology of landscape has been created. The stratigraphic model of landscape evolution may be suitable for studies on landscape changes, durability, stability, sustainability, optimization etc. on a regional level. The purpose of this article is to fill conceptual gaps in landscape study methodology. In the chronological approach, applying both to geography and history, the author proposes a typology of cultural landscapes as evolutionary stages representing consecutive phases in the development of communities. The model presented is based on the assumption that historical cultural layers „deposited” on the substrate of natural environment coexist in landscape space. Cultural landscape stratigraphy denotes specific arrangement and relative positions of cultural layers (historical landscape structures) present in the landscape, being a product of specific lifestyles / methods of resource management of communities inhabiting a given area. Each of the layers may be assigned a time-frame.
