Abstract

The author formulates here the conclusion that micrological categories in Anna Kamiehska’s poetry are of central importance. The micrological analysis comprises three thematic dimensions of Kamiehska’s poetry. In her concept of the religious faith, the concept of the micro-scale, represented by the wooden figures of saints (small size holy images normally exposed in wayside shrines and usually carved by home-bred village artists), serves the purpose of “domesticating” God, who, owing the micro-icon becomes close and comprehensible to man. The rituals of seemingly unimportant, daily activities are not a waste of time, they constitute the real sense of human existence; the natural minutiae are the elementary particles of the world, eventually they lead, however, to the world’s universal dimension.
