Abstract: This study constitutes a research reconnaissance and an attempt at a description of the tendencies noticeable in the contemporary literary studies whose subject are the micro-scale phenomena - elementary units, corpuscles, fragments, diminution effects, miniaturization techniques, etc. The question is raised of whether the various studies of "micro-worlds" and new micro-specialties are an inspiration for literary research. An attempt at answering this is the vision of a literary micrology whose tradition is constituted by genre studies concentrating on the so called small forms and such a peculiar and ungraspable phenomenon as the miniature”.
