Abstract

The author points at some crisis- -involving factors, developed in the modern society, indicates its educational tasks and chances of their accomplishment. The paper emphasizes the fact that the reforms of the economical system, if are to be fruitful, must be accompanied by social transformations and changes in human attitudes. Basing on F. Znaniecki’s ascertainment, that the economic process is conditioned by living conditions of a group, and from among all groups small groups are the most capable to exert crucial educational influences, one of them, a local community becomes an object of a particular attention. The fundamental socializing processes take place in local communities and here the network of human relations should be formed. Activization of these communities satisfies the man’s psychological need to assume an active attitude toward some changes that take place around. At the same time it provides a chance to reintegrate local communities, to reform some institutions by reducing red-tape and to stimulate this way social undertakings. Activization of local communities is expected to be an important element of the educational system.
