Jedność Europy jako element nowego (postulowanego) ładu europejskiego

Abstract

In general outlines of the new European order presented in 1980’s, the central postulates were those of overcoming the divisions in Europe. The Unity was to be the stem of the post-cold war systems. Keeping this fact in mind, the author of this article analyzes the real possibilities of building such an order. Some aspects have been particularly displayed: the historical aspect of the unifying trends, the main postulates formulated in the political thought of some European countries and the ones presented on the biggest forum of the Security and Cooperation Conference. The analysis of the first years of building the new European order is not encourageing in forming any conclusions concerning the pace of the unifying processes of the whole Europe. At the same time, the practical realization of the main assumptions of the new, desired order is constantly moving away.
