Many Silesian cities and their districts still has strong traces of the industrial past, which often show their spatial and social degradation. This industrial inheritance and difficult process of restructuring has set a serious challenge for local governments. The answer for it is the search for new solutions and scenarios which should have introduced a new quality of life and functioning of the local community. One of the interesting projects in this area were design workshops “Design in the field”. Their uniqueness was based on the combined creative potential of designers and residents of selected cities to find a new solutions to meet local needs and problems.pl_PL
