Abstrakt: | The present article concerns historical prose of Bulat Okudzava, namely the Unfortunate
Avrosimov (1969), Cases of Shypov... (1970), Journeys of Dilettantes (1977), and A Meeting with
Bonaparte (1983) novels. The analysis was made with consideration of guidelines of the
intertextual method. The text concentrates on one of the aspects of the mentioned novels - the
presence of forms that are on the borderline of literature and document, literary and practical
texts, literature and para-literature in their structure. The author tries to find the answer to the
question of a meaning of the presence of such forms as a letter, diary, and journal in the prose of
Bulat Okudzava. These forms appear in all four novels repeatedly; each of every major character
of the works can be described as a homo scriptor. As the analysis shows, the (over) presence of the
mentioned genres appears to be justified by a specific vision of the world and history; the writer
urges to show how history and historical events are shaped in the consciousness of the heroes
of the novels and how they are perceived. Moreover, this type of the world presented in these
novels reveals the influence of transformations that have taken place in the post-1953 Russian
literature; the influence of a phenomenon, defined as a personalization of a novel, is visible in their
structure. |
