| Abstrakt: | This article focusses on the depiction of Shakespeare’s dramas in Krzysztof Walikowski’s African Tales by Shakespeare, a performance which first premiered in Liege, Belgium, in 2011. It presents African Tales by Shakespeare as an authorial interpretation of Shakespeare’s tragedies and considers the performance in the context of contemporary discourse focused on identity, corporeality, gender and post- colonialism theories. |
