Wczesnobarokowe treny konsolacyjne poświęcone pamięci dzieci - charakterystyka genologiczna

Abstract

The aim of the paper is a genre characteristic of the early Baroque funerary poems devoted to the memory of children. The author analyses poems by Grochowski, Miaskowski, Żabczyc and Szymonowie and confronts the structural determinants of the texts with the theoretical knowledge on funerary genres contained in the old Polish poetics. She concludes that the poems analysed, despite the fact that they contain some formal features of consolation described by Scaliger despite their references the stylistic formulations of Kochanowski’s Laments, are characterised by unique structural properties corresponding to greater or lesser extent to the features of „consolation lament” which the author constructs on the basis of the structure of the chronologically earliest of the analysed texts.
