A presentation of the problem of genre model of travel reportage in the light of genre formation is the target of the article. A textual model constitutes a certain pattern disregarded on the basis of pointing (separation) of certain obligatory and facultative features enabling an inclusion of a given announcement in this particular genologic variety and its determination as a representative of a genre. A model of travel reportage was considered according to its basic levels (aspects) and contexts, where a given text functions (as well as a genre as an abstract, a "sum" of texts in a sense, i.e. individual actualizations of a genre). The aspects of the model (according to the hierarchy of importance) include the aspect of
pragmatics I, aspect of style, aspect of pragmatics II, aspect of composition; the contexts include situational context, cultural context and literary context.
It seems, however, that it is not enough to characterize the indications exclusively (the ways of making present) of the individual prototypical and stereotypical features of genre in this case. It is also important to pay attention to the hierarchy of their importance in the context of the whole problem as well, i.e. to their place in the process of genre formation and in the structure of a textual model.
