Abstrakt: The article describes gastronomical base in Sosnowiec, one of the Silesian region towns. The purpose of analysis is characterization of gastronomical buildings structure and its special layout. The bases of study are the results of local research collected in January 2009 by the students of geography. The identified objects including 274 gastronomical buildings were divided into 3 groups: feeding, complementary and gastronomical points (fig. 2). The greatest part of 50% in gastronomical market structure belongs to complementary posts which includes beer-houses, pubs, cafes, confectionaries and night clubs. Feeding posts: restaurants, pizzerias, different kinds of bars and more and more popular fast-foods are equal to 46% of gastronomical buildings. (fig 3). Gastronomical points were not of great importance. The layout of gastronomical buildings shows a big variation and visible hierarchy in urban space (fig. 5, 6). The most important is a town centre and nearby areas. Into the farer distance from the centre the gastronomical chain was underdeveloped in spite of considerable population in some cases.
