Trwałość i zmiana : edukacja w środowisku lokalnym - w kręgu potrzeb i oczekiwań

Abstract

The presented study is an attempt to show how – within school education implemented in the local environment – the ideas of cultural heritage are interwoven with the ideas of interculturality and civic spirit, how the man is protected from globalization, unification and homogenization of social life, how local (or related to social environment) egocentrism is prevented, and how attitudes of civil participation are shaped. what to a certain extent differentiates the perspective of this study from that of the existing research output is the focus on inseparability of continuity and change which determines the individual and social development as well as on the dynamics of educational processes, (self-)education, and (self-)development. in the theoretical framework of the undertaken discussion the following are referred to: J. Szczepański's concept of social determinants of education; h. Radlińska and a. k amiński's concept of human powers; the concept of environmental education developed by w. Theiss; and J. nikitorowicz's holistic concept of intercultural education. The thesis is put forward that the original sense attributed to the little homeland is drifting away in favour of treating it both as a place of meeting and cooperation with representatives of other cultures and a source of citizen life.
