Abstract

Th e author refl ects on how topics related to the province of Silesia were dealt with in a synthetic study Dzieje narodu polskiego by Józef Dąbrowski. Her analysis is being conducted in a comparative way against the background of mainstream treatises on Polish national history published within the span of 19th century. She argues that Dąbrowski’s study off ered a model of presenting Silesian issues that diff ered from the standard ones to a very signifi cant degree.
