Abstract: The modern world belongs to the film. For many people screen becomes the main medium, often treated as a window to the world. It gives enormous possibilities, such as sightseeing, exploring or acquiring the information, posing simultaneously many dangerous situations. Influencing the audience and leading people to the specific behaviors have been tempting for the filmmakers for many years. Cognitive psychology gives a broad knowledge about individuals functioning and behaviors that helps to undertake the interesting topics, improve attractiveness of the content or influence the public opinion. In this chapter the analysis of functioning of the observer has been made in respect to one’s cognitive processes. The individual consciously and actively participates in the movie, being at the same time affected by it. The undertaking problem has been analyzed based on the cognitive concepts and the social cognition approach in respect to the selected movies.
