Predstavlenie o nasekomyh v azykovom soznanii polakov i russkih

Abstract

The article is devoted to the contrastive analysis of a short fragment of the Polish and Russian entomological vocabulary from the perspective of linguistic consciousness of both Russians and Poles. The author reaches the conclusion that in the linguistic consciousness of a Russian insects function as a creature whose characteristics are small size and voraciousness. For a Pole, on the other hand, insects are most of all as dirty. The common feature of linguistic consciousness of both nations is perceiving insects as creatures producing particular sounds and existing in gatherings.
