| Abstrakt: | In the eighties, member states of the then European Community took actions that were aimed at the establishment of cooperation in respect of the protection of the population in the event of natural disasters and disasters caused by human beings. Consequently, by virtue of the decision of the Council of Europe (from 23rd October, 2001), the community mechanism was created, which brought about reinforced cooperation in the actions supporting the protection of civilians. This article deals with the mechanism itself, its goals and subjective scope. It also approaches the practical examples of using the mechanism and defi nes the principles of its fi nancing. |
