Abstract

The use and transformation of the landscape by man has certain goals that make up providing him with favorable conditions of life and development. Specific functions of the cultural landscape serve those specific purposes. There are following 9 functions of cultural landscape Identified and described in the article: spatial, ecological, nature-protection, materials-productive, energy-productive, communication, educational, recreational, sacral and aesthetic. Justifies the validity of the functional perspective on the cultural landscape, as it allows the use in landscape research principles and methods of the system approach, which opens the way to manage the landscape.
