Abstract: Geomatics - the science and technology of gathering, analyzing, interpreting, distributing and using spatial information (geoinformation), i.e. information referred to the Earth is an example of a branch which appeared as the result of computer science development. Partly because of broad proliferation of information technology, every discipline of life, science, technique and education, also geomatics, nowadays quickly fills with new information and terms. Terms such as geoinformatics, geoinformation, geographic information systems (GIS), spatial information systems, geographic information, spatial information are also connected with geomatics. These terms repeatedly appear in printed and electronic documents. The aim of this paper is to analyse their occurrence in computer subject catalogues in academic libraries (e.g. Warsaw University, Jagiellonian University in Kraków, Agricultural University of Cracow, University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn, Maria Curie-Sk³odowska University in Lublin, Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznañ, Technical University of £ódź, Warsaw University of Technology, Wroc³aw University of Technology, Military University of Technology in Warsaw, AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków, University of Silesia in Katowice). The aim is also to analyse these terms occurrence in the National Union Catalogue (NUKAT), which is realised by scientific libraries, mainly academic, on the base of subject language KABA.
