Abstrakt: | The article describes the changes occurring on the job market of Silesia region. Among
other, the article analyses the transformation processes of the structure in number of professionally active people and the unemployed as well as functioning economic subjects in the
period of restructuring.
The changes on regional job market of Silesia among the employed tend to have evolutionary
character, according to a section of PKD (Polish Classification of Activities). It occurred, that
in the services sector, especially in services of modern character, the number of job positions
is not growing. The number of workers who are inhabitants of the region is not big enough
and a consequence the image of region is not subjected to changes and is continuously viewed
through the prism of heavy industry. The job market of Silesia is characterized by one of the
lowest activation rate of professional activity concerning the local inhabitants in comparison
to other regions of the country region. The article also presents the characteristic of conversation
occurring in the structure of functioning economic subject. Four sub -zones of the Special
Economic Zone play a huge role in the transformation process.
However, the article underlines the fact that they function on the market for a short period
of time and it influences their low degree of being anchored in economy as they create
too little job posts for highly -qualified staff. A part of the article is devoted to the analysis of
changes in the structure of the unemployed on regional job market. Simultaneously, a trends
characteristic was conducted of the changes in the field of scare professions in the region in
the period from 2006—2009. This analysis confirms the lack of staff of specialists in technology,
especially those of middle management on the regional job market. |
