Historyczne kształtowanie się koncepcji wychowania zdrowotnego w Polsce

Abstract

Health education in Poland is intrinsically linked with the origins of hygiene movement and health‑instruction which nowadays is defined as health promotion policy. Health education has been formed through many historical periods from the Enlightenment through the times of Poland partitions, times of the Second Republic, Nazi occupation, the communist regime up to contemporary times. Definitive place of the health education in pedagogy happened due to the Maciej Demel, the founder of theoretical basics of health pedagogy. The idea of health education has been shaped through centuries on the basis of needs of changing socio‑economical and political living conditions. However, the converging element linking all those different periods and diverse views has been to create a vibrant, autonomous, active, happy person — that is a healthy human. At the same time it is noteworthy to observe that in each historical period, despite of all engagement and cooperation between participants of educational process and involvement of specialists both the life situation and socio‑economical conditions of the pupil has been an important factor which either facilitated or obstructed the realisation of central tenets of health education: to make sensible health‑oriented choices.
