dc.description.abstract | The article constitutes an attempt at interpretation of the motif of silence in To Feed
a Stone – a book of poetic prose by Bronka Nowicka. The main aim of the article is, therefore,
to describe and demonstrate the relationships between silence and speech, parent and
child. Moreover, the article makes an attempt at characterizing the mindset of an idealist
as well as a realist. Those relationships, in turn, constitute the metaphysical foundations
