Abstract

The subject of consideration in the article is the issue of a systemic and textual combinability of the lexeme computer. The aspect of the subject the author takes into account in his work is microlinguistic in nature: systemic and semantic, and, at the same time, synchronic and local. His interest covers selected contemporary Polish epistemic verbs of mental activities (especially their semanticgrammatical features, including selective and thematic ones) in relation to the lexeme computer. The aim, on the other hand, the author formulates is macrolinguistic in nature: philosophical-linguistic boiling down to the attempt to show which views as regards the issue of ontology and epistemology of mind are justified in the light of linguistic arguments and which are not. The method used in the article has a linguo-centric (structural-logical) mode. The very work inscribes into the current search of philosophical views and conceptions hidden in word meanings.
