Abstract: 25 October 2016. Landscape after the battle. Why has the nationalist populism dominated the Polish political scene? Where does this vulnerability to the “authoritarian sting” come from? Should this phenomenon be perceived as: (a) the counter-reaction to neoliberal reforms carried out in Poland after 1989? (b) the heritage of historically, socially, and politically shaped slave mentalities? (c) the consequence of geopolitical localisation between East and West? (d) the result of overwhelming global tendencies? As we all know social world is not a homogeneous one. It could reveal (or hide) many (sometimes quite unexpected) faces. It is a mosaic composed of contradictory (as it seems at a first glance) elements. Each of the hypotheses (questions) posed above could be partly true (...).
