Abstrakt: | Narrative texts used in early foreign language teaching provide not only a motivational stimulus for learning, but can also be an important source of language material. The present article presents the basic principles of developing lexical competence in early foreign language teaching, with particular emphasis on the narrative form of teaching (story-telling approach). In order to show the influence of fairy tale and story-telling on
children’s receptive acquisition of foreign language vocabulary, the results of empirical research were discussed in detail, in which children at the pre-school and early school levels were taught German in accordance with the assumptions of the narrative approach. |
