| Abstract: | The following article is devoted to an analysis of the theory of the democratization process. First, the author approaches democratization in terms of a political change. Next, he provides definitions related to the subject. The multidimensional character of democratization is connected to not only political, but also axiological and behavioral aspects of this process.This stance is reflected further in the article. The multistage character of democratization is related to the existence of stages of erosion of a regime, transition and consolidation of democracy. |
