Abstract

The development of new information technologies and the widespread use of mobile devices are changing the face of modern science and culture. The emerging era of big data marks the beginning of another, great transformation. The article presents challenges related to conducting research in the field of social sciences in the “Internet age”. The pace of Internet development and its impact on changes in society are unprecedented in the development of information and communication technologies. Many of the previously reliable testing methods based on the assumption of ceteris paribus are proving to be inadequate. At the same time, the new research methods are not validated and are often based on data that is incomplete and not fully verifiable.
