“Wariat”, “kretyn”, “szaleńca” – sematyka wybranych nazw osób przejawiających cechy choroby psychicznej

Abstract

This article endeavours to describe the semantic and word formational analysis of names of persons who show the features of mental illness. The study has been conducted from a diachronic perspective, taking into account classical methods of description of the development of the aforementioned semantic field. The article focuses on the description of qualitative changes. Attention has also been paid to female names of persons whose behavior deviates from the norm.
