Pop-/post-"literatura środka"

Abstract

The author makes an attempt to define capabilities of the „middle literature” constituting one of the formed systems in the polysystem of culture (I. Even‑Zohar). The author introduces her typology beyond triadic/binary literature models of D. MacDonald and V.W. Brooks and places it between the popular (mass) literature and avantgarde (also in a postmodern option). A contemporary condition of the literature (hybridization of the media/discourses) and cultural communication strategies creating a federation of subcultures/subliteratures, allow for treating the model in question (in its dynamic processuality and Luhmann’s “system circulation”) as a pop/post “middle literature”. This is a notion put forward by the author to mean an aspect of an intersystem mediatorialness in communication circulations, as well as because of the genre and structural features as relationalness, copying, reproductivity and serialization.
