Abstract

The author of the article is interested in the relationship between man and digital technology, with particular emphasis on its impact on the processes of social communication, which from the very beginning have been subject to ideologies that are created at the interface between the grassroots creativity of users and social institutions involved in creating tools to control digital communication. The article focuses on ideas which (although important) seem to disappear in the face of the consumerist attitude of users of new media, who instrumentally and superficially treat technology. These ideas were seen a few decades ago as a factor which would be able to break the inertia of contemporary man.
