Abstract

The article emphasizes the usefulness of Motivational Dialogue in the activities of social workers. It justifies the need to use new, more effective ways of cooperation in social work. It encourages solutions that activate the client and bring out the potential through a rela-tionship based on partnership dialogue. It also presents the basic principles and factors of ef-fectiveness of Motivational Dialogue and the stages of implementing change. The approach fits in with the modern model of social work, which assumes the need to look for solutions emphasising the client’s subjectivity.
