Abstract

Two layers can be distinguished in sermons and homilies: the theological layer (God’s Word) and the anthropological layer (human speech). Sermon preachers should be aware of the fact that for many listeners they are models of pronunciation whose speech patterns are often imitated, be that with or without pronunciation mistakes. The paper discusses the most common lexical, grammatical or phonological mistakes made by sermon preachers. Speech therapy methods for the future sermon preachers are also presented.
