Negatywne afekty w popularnej powieści historycznej : o "Przyłbicach i kapturach" Kazimierza Korkozowicza

Abstract

The article devoted to negative affects in a popular historical novel Przyłbice i kaptury by Kazimierz Korkozowicz presents a proposal of reading a novel by Korkozowicz according to the methodology of studying affects in the literature. The author paid attention to the analysis of the ways of showing hatred and desire of revenge as the motives of actions taken by the characters. Using the theory of affects and narratology allows for placing a popular historical novel in a discourse modeling and evoking particular emotions in the society (here using an image of the Teutonic Knights in the Polish People’s Republic’s propaganda).
