Obraz szkoły w kinie współczesnym : konteksty społeczno-kulturowe

Abstract

The Subject-matter of my consideration covers chosen films about schools made in the United States and Europe in the first decade of the twenty-first century. Contemporary cinema generally presents this subject in form of journalistic discourse on the crisis of values and lack of authority whose search may lead to violence or interest in Nazi ideology. School space is used to present critical vision of contemporary times or reveal the pathology of social system, it may also reflect social and moral concern. Dramatic events which take place in schools create images which arouse fear about the nature of neoliberal society and appear in public discourse on the problems of contemporary culture.
