Abstract

The author presents problems of language competence among kindergarten children and analyses spoken language acquisition by the children. She connects theoretical information with didactic practical — with methods and forms of work to develop the communication skill. The author points how involving a child in a social situation affects its language. She points at significant importance of the motivating activity of teacher to build proper relations between him and a pupil when they are based on trust, friendliness and belief in abilities of a child. The author describes specific teaching procedures followed by the examples of exercises — common reading of fairy tales and plays — aiming at the improvement of both the children’s language and the development of their language awareness.
