| Abstrakt: | The paper examines the links and affinities of Jacek Podsiadło’s work with broadly understood American literary and cultural tradition. Podsiadło’s eponymous “dream” has two aspects: on the one hand, a fascination with the profusion of formulas and stereotypes, characteristic of American pop culture (popular literature, comics, music, film, cartoons) and, on the other, a deep preoccupation with the spiritual and mystical strains of the radical “philosophy of life” embodied in the thought of the eminent Transcendentalist from Concord — Henry David Thoreau. |
