Abstract: | The publication overviews the studies on the way of forming justifications for
ethical decisions as well as the sources of a moral behaviour of people in the workplace,
concentrating on interpersonal relationships. The existing theories referring
to the conditions of workers; ethical behaviours were discussed. The author described
those qualities of people and organization that lie behind decisions taken,
and discussed the features of a moral dilemma as such that influences ethical choices.
The book took into consideration three different moral perspectives of the participants
of ethical situations in the workplace: an offender, a victim and a witness,
showing the specificity of the experiences of each of the characters of an ethical
situation. The author made a short overview of the forms of an unethical behaviour,
as well as raised the issue of revealing them. A part of the publication was devoted
to the difficulties connected with the examination of unethical behaviours in an
organization, as well as their complexity.
An additional advantage of the book is its practical part, resulting from the author’s
own experiences and taking into account her studies conducted. It contains
tips for training an ethical behaviour and reflections on the sources of unethical behaviour
in the workplace. The suggestions of workshops for people having different
psychological characteristics, and features connected with morality presented here
aim at raising the ethical awareness of the organization workers, and an improvement
of interpersonal relationships in an organization. |
