Frazeologizmy o rodowodzie mitologicznym piętą Achillesa gimnazjalistów? : wyniki badań

Abstract

The article discusses the results coming from empirical studies conducted among junior high school students in the Silesian voivodship. The studies aimed at checking which idiomatic expressions of a mythological origin, are known by junior high school students, which mythologisms to be found in modern lexicographic sources are referred to by them, what knowledge about the origin of idiomatic expressions the students represent, and what cultural competence they have. The linguistic material collected allowed for formulating general conclusions, as well as pointing to the reasons of a decreasing number of items of a mythological origin in students’ vocabulary.
