The philosophy of meeting — as a new project of understanding the nature of a human being, derived from a discovery of a new path of a cognitive access to the internal truth of existence — was created in the 1920s. It was an important event in the latest history of the European culture as the new philosophy, which gained fast popularity, taught sensitivity to the human issues, contributed to overcoming the crisis of self-knowledge of man these days and deepened the awareness of a substantial significance of a dialogue dimension of existence. A cultural situation of man has undergone fast and radical changes within the last century. What seemed an up-to-date and adequate meaning of self-knowledge in the 1920s dazzles with its anachronistic nature theses days. What we need is a new consideration on the issue of anchoring man in the contemporary world the cultural content of which makes totally different frames for the processes of self-creation and definition of the sense of existence. Nowadays, man lives in the world marked with multiple ef fects of information revolution and globalization (not only an economic, but also a communication one), dividing his/her time between two world: the real and virtual one. Thus, a new challenge for the philosophy of meeting is the analysis and description of an existential condition of man in conditions determined by today’s stage of a civilizational development. The article in question presents an outline of the project of the continuation of the trend of the philosophy of meeting designed in such a way, an emphasis being made to the cultural phenomenon of meeting in the virtual space.pl_PL
