Abstract

The author as a basis of her research accepts the summary understrood as a speech genre and a text derivation. The article is a complement of the area in which summary was desribed until now. The short research is dedicated to other than scientific or poetic summaries chosen from the metatext level (e.g. title, introduction) and the paratext level (e.g. discussion, lead, announcement, forecast, edition note). The speech genres which use the summary (e.g. review, laudation, commentary) are described too. The author accepts an attitude to the genre status of summary understood as a trans-genre and explains the expansion reasons of this kind of text extracts in contemporary culture.
