Abstrakt: In the article I follow the way paved by Gregory Bateson at the turn of the 70s and the 80s of the previous century. Bateson was the creator of the cybernetic theory of learning and teaching who suggested limiting of “basic learning” and “learning to learn” in favour of “the third level learning”, which is based on useful and necessary knowledge and on flexible thinking and acting. His idea is particularly up-to-date in information society with pro-technical attitude towards reality. I concretize the idea proving that it is mainly connected with self-limiting of media users referring both to using info-freedom, which is communication liberty, and info-activity, which is overactivity in using technology for example multitasking. The starting point of the whole complex pedagogical process, which allows to create efficient didactic and educational strategies, is accepting the following assumptions and criteria. Accepting the fact that media education is based on common information education, that it is the basis for all education both general and subject one, which takes into account daily experience of both students and teachers. The fact that it is based on the model of integral person, which refers to someone who not only acquires knowledge and ability to navigate in the contemporary world but can also judge the value of technology and their contacts with it and processes taking place in the contemporary world.
