Abstract

The subject of the article is reflection on changes of word formation sub‑entries for which animal names constitute a derivate basis. The 16th century sub‑entries are the starting point. These were contrasted with sub‑entries representing the later Polish language, until the contemporary one. The author of the article makes an attempt to use the method of sub‑entry word formation to the statement of a historio‑linguistic type. She points to a widely‑understood word formation potential, changes of lexemes having the same root and definitions of the derivation type that dominated in a given period. Кшиштоф
