Pamięć o przeszłości jako element odtwarzania tożsamości etnicznej mniejszości ukraińskiej w Polsce

Abstract

Bożena Pactwa deals with the problem of reconstructing an identity of the Ukrainian minority in Poland. The author refers to the memory of the victims of the action “Wisła”, dramas of people expelled that were deprived of the sense of the ethnic affiliation. Moving from considerations on time and memory from an abstract to a socio‑historical level, the researcher convinces us that a collective memory of the Ukrainian minority in Poland will last among others thanks to the ceremonies commemorating the past cultivated together that combines the witnesses of the past events with the representatives of a young generation.
