Alcune riflessioni sulle ispirazioni classiche negli encomi funebri di Jan Kochanowski

Abstract

Many of Kochanowski’s lyrical verses – elegies, songs, epigrams, hymns and satires – are inspired by classical models. In several passages, they contain echoes and even some direct imitations of Greek and Latin authors, such as Homer, Catullus, Virgil, Horace or Moschus. The purpose of this paper is to present a selection of verses from Kochanowski’s funeral songs in comparison to various classical works, and to draw analogies between them.
