Abstract

Blessed Anna Catherine Emmerich lived at the turn of XVIII and XIX century. She was a poor and uneducated Augustinian. She became famous due to stigmata and mystic visions, written down by her order by Clemens Brentano. The topic of those visions is life of Mary and Jesus. They are characterized by great attention to detail and exceptionally vivid descriptions. This article pays attention to fragments of German mystic’s visions, which relate to miracles and supernatural events. It shows, what kind of vocabulary she uses to report those scenes and events, which cannot really be described by language.
