Abstract

Polish social Policy struggles to find some efficient ways of dealing with domestic violence. One of important aspects of this issue is the status of a child in family and society. Children, taken as social entity, do not posses any means to protect their needs and interests, even most fundamental ones. To support them, initiatives based in the world of adults are required. To make them suc-cessful, some work on social consciousness of the problem of children in family and society needs to be done. Valued help in this might come from the heritage of Janusz Korczak’s pedagogy. The paper addresses those issues in Korczak’s teaching which may directly improve social policy towards children.
