Konceptystyczny wiersz Stanisława Barańczaka. Na przykładzie "Widokówki z tego świata"

Abstract

The sketch outlines the issue o f a conceit poem by Stanisław Barańczak. His translational experience derived from the translation o f English metaphysical poetry o f the 17,h century has sensitised the poet to the issues related to artificiality o f form. On the example of "A Postcard from This World", the author o f the sketch portrays the metaphysical aspects of the poem, which she derives from Pascal's Blaise philosophy. She also analyses the form of the poem, pointing to its conceit principles based on analogy, repetition, parallelism and symmetry. The author’s observations are juxtaposed with Barańczak’s views on metaphysical poetry expressed in his literary sketches and interview.
