Abstract: The aim of the paper is to analyze phenomena taking place around the process of creating a photographic record - the time between the opening and closing of the shutter. Based on selected series of author's works, I analyzed process of formation a photographic image in contexts of auto creation, performatic and selected convention of photography reception. The discussed works, I made in author's artistic method, which I named “continuous photography”. It combines the medium of photography and film. The most important feature of this technique is registration photography image without the most important thing – stop motion. The images created with this technique are build with use photographic means of expression. They are static or at least passive but they have a record of the process runs in front of the lens. This technique balance on the edge of photography, around the decisive moment of record, but the record is never happened. Dependencies associated with this method and conclusions are described on the base of experience which came from artistic practice of “continuous photography”. The last realization, described in chapter four is “continuous photography – uncaught moments” which is artistic part of dissertation.
