Magia a kryminał, fantasy a literatura detektywistyczna : stylizacja i hybrydyzacja w powieści "Mag niezależny Flossia Naren" Kiry Izmajłowej

Abstract

Fantasy writers combine elements characteristic of the genres they excel at with those that are determinants of other genres, including crime story, science-fiction and steampunk. The most apparent seem to be connections between fantasy and the detective story. Hence, an analysis should be based on a representative example and in reference to the rudimentary information on textual stylistics. In the Russian-language literature such an example is Случай Из Практики by Kira Izmajlova. All the elements of a crime story, including investigation, deduction methods and the protagonist, are presented and analyzed in the crime story/fantasy context. They are juxtaposed with examples of similar connections in the English-language literature since the foundations of the genre have been laid in the English language.
