dc.description.abstract | The so called TV theatre has become an important place for fictional performances,
referring to theatrical conventions in a variety of ways in the space of the contemporary
screen. These references are sometimes just a text for a stage or the usage of a prearranged,
simplified scenography, defining the place of the game following the example
of the stage or at least an intensified interpersonal relationship defined by a dialogue of
a character, conducted in a natural, film interior, open air or graphic background. This
place, for hybrid performances, combining artistic capacities of many fields, the theatre,
TV, film and video among other the things. This place of experimenting with the picture
and sound which, though, always accompany the actor's play and word. The three performances
analysed present three different communication and presentation strategies which
constitute the attempts to tame the situation of functioning the TV theatre in the screen
communication space. Łucja i jej dzieci [Łucja and her children] is a performance making
references to a strict convention of a TV documentary. Connections with the theatre are
reduced to the emphasis on the interpersonal relationship and acting. Up to date conventions
of tragedy can remain only on the part of the audience. Związek otwarty [An open
relationship] presents a mimicry strategy towards TV-peculiar forms of picture realizations:
a computer animation, video-clip, commercial... It includes, however, clear references
to the theatrical stage and the genre. It still concentrates on the relationship, though, it
tells it rather than presents, intensifying phatic qualities of the actor's play. Podróż do
wnętrza pokoju [A journey to the inside the room] shows most clearly a metadiscursive strategy.
It parodies a cultural space the theatre and drama create, unmasking the elements of
their various conventions (scenographic, dramaturgic, ludic) and combines with the space
of the popular culture (a TV plan, cinema of genres, and sitcom). | pl_PL |
